The musical Matilda continues to praise audiences at the Cambridge Theater. Based on the beloved children's novel by Roald Dahl, including a score by comedian Tim Minchin and Dennis Kelly of the award-winning book and went on to win 7 Olivia Awards.
This story of an extraordinary little girl who dares to take a stand and change her destiny comes to life in a very visual and imaginative way that will unleash your inner child and leave you magical. With the choreography of Olivier and Tony Award-winning Peter Darling (Billy Elliott) and some of the most inventive stage in town, it truly is a feast for the eyes as well as the ears and heart.

Matilda is a play that tells the story of Matilda - a 5-year-old girl whose IQ level exceeds that of her whole family together. Matilda's parents despise her wisdom and even shy away from her and therefore abuse her and want to learn and be smart. In order to bring them back, Matilda executes her genius and performs all kinds of amusing tricks on them. When Matilda goes up to first grade she is revealed to be the smartest girl in her class and her teacher Miss Honey greatly admires her wisdom and tries to raise her grade but without success. The thing that keeps Matilda from moving forward is the evil principal who punishes her students severely. Miss Trenchbolt is the object of fear of most of the school's students and she abuses them by throwing them into the dungeon and a variety of painful and scary things. During the show we see Matilda's development and her attempt to find a place that will appreciate her wisdom.
