After graduating he worked for two years as an English teacher.
In January 1977 Sting moved to London, and soon after joined Stuart Copeland and Henry Padwney (who was later replaced by Andy Summers), and together they formed the band Polis, where Sting served as lead singer and bassist. The band has released five successful albums and won six Grammy Awards.
The success led to a crazy sale of tickets for Sting show Berlin shows and all the destinations were snatched en masse. After the band disbanded in 1984, Sting went on to pursue a successful solo career. His first solo album, "The Dream of the Blue Turtles",
Released in 1985 and won Triple Platinum. In addition, the album was nominated for a Grammy Award in the "Album of the Year" category.
